Master Closet Makeover: From nothing to everything!
The Master Closet: Before
When I started to work with my clients, the project consisted of the Butler's Pantry and the master closet. As you can see from the images below, when my clients purchased this home, there was no real closet system in place. This space was in dire need of a master closet makeover.
The master closet did not have built-ins at all - but look at the tall ceilings!
My clients were using drawers for their clothes.
This was where the Mr. was keeping his clothes.
The Mrs. was not feeling organized in this space.
The Master Closet: After
Conceptual Plan
When I say a master closet makeover, I don't just mean a little bit here and there. I mean the WHOLE space! Below is the conceptual plan to utilize the entire space of this master closet. With high ceilings, typically that vertical space is not used. From the request of my client, she wanted to go up - WAY UP! As a result, we took this design right to the ceiling knowing that my clients would need a ladder to access the upper cabinets. As you can see, we maximized every inch of this master closet makeover!
Final plans provided by Casa Flores
This is the conceptual rendering of the Mr.'s side. With a sliding glass door, plenty of drawers and a tall shoe storage, there was going to be more than enough room!
This middle, back cabinet was going to be somewhat of a feature. The plan was for the back of this cabinet to be painted or we would use wallpaper.
The Mrs. was going to get plenty of drawers and hanging at various heights.
More hanging to ensure that all clothes would be fitting into this space!
The Reveal
I always love reveal time. For me, it's a chance to see the space put back together, it's a chance to see how functional it is (and of course, how pretty it is too). Without further ado, here is the master closet makeover.
While we looked at using wallpaper for the back of this cabinet, we ended up going with the same blue color, Anchor's Aweigh that is currently in parts of their kitchen and their new Butler's Pantry.
A little close up of the Anchor's Aweigh paint against the creamy cabinets.
The Mrs. now has plenty of room for shoes, boots, purses, and bags with the adjustable shelving.
The Mr. now has a dedicated spot for his shoes!
A view of the top cabinets that run the length of each wall. Those cabinets hinge up utilizing every inch of this closet!
On the right side of this image, you will see that the Mr. has a sliding glass door.
We used a Golden Champagne finish for all of the hardware.
Master Closet Makeover
What was once a space that had my clients only keeping only their seasonal clothes in the master closet, is now a master closet that has more than enough space for clothes of any season!
Coming up next week:
So many people have asked how we made the towel rack for my One Room Challenge. Next week I'll share how we made it!
