Is it that time again? Spring ahead and decorate with clocks
Just this past weekend we sprung ahead - moved our clocks forward (unless you live in Arizona or Hawaii or Saskatchewan, Southampton Island, Nunavut, Quebec's north shore and Peace River Regional District, B.C.). All I have to say is
Lucky bastards!
The older I get, the more I detest the time change. I especially cringe when we go on a holiday and there is a 3 to 4 hour time difference. Since I always like to think, 'glass half full', with all of this debate and talk around the time change, it has me thinking of clocks. I love clocks! I have a dedicated Pinterest board for them. Typically most of my work revolves around renovations so I'm happy to write about a decorating today! Let's look at a few examples of how to decorate with clocks.

Decorate with Clocks: Oversized Wall Clocks
I am a total sucker for large clocks. I mean, the bigger the better! Here are some that caught my eye.
This beauty is 47" wide by 47" tall. You would need one big wall to house this bad-boy!
This one is so simple, yet elegant (IMHO). This clock is 42" X 42" so again, a larger space would be needed.Needing to add in a splash of colour, here's one that might do the trick
This particular clock is 30.75" X 30.75"These ones above, as you may notice, are all round. I was having a hard time trying to find oversized square clocks! Here's a glimpse of what oversized clocks can look like in a space:
My own wall clock in the background
I love how you can decorate with clocks (especially a large, oversized one) and not need anything else on a wall. For our new basement development, I already have an oversized clock purchased for one wall down there.
Decorate with Cocks: Table and Desk Clocks
Just as a wall clock can add that touch of design to a wall space, table and desk clocks can also add that touch of decor that you may be missing. This little cutie would be great on a desk or on a shelf:
This one, the gold and black.....yummy!
And then of course, there is something so beautiful yet simple with a desk clock like this one:
I love how Lindsay Veremis used a clock to decorate and style her bookshelf.
Decorate with Clocks: Coffee and End Tables
Clocks are not just for the walls or a flat surface. There are some really neat coffee and end table clocks as well (including one that I own and is located in my office). A few ideas listed below. When I saw this one I instantly fell in love. I think I fell in love with this one as it is so unique.
I will admit, this one would not be great if you had small children in the house. Can you imagine the fun they would have???
I love how an accent or side table can be a piece of art like the above.I'll comment below with an image of my own clock accent table once my basement development is done. My table is currently covered with stuff from our basement! On my Pinterest board I also have pinned ideas around decorating a clock like the one below to create a feature wall.
Decorate with Clocks
So while I guess I really detest the time changes (just so you know - I also detest the 'fall behind' time change as well), I do not detest clocks! They are one way that I love to help clients decorate a space. The only downfall? The more clocks you have, the more clocks you need to adjust the time when a time change occurs!I'd love to know your thoughts on clocks. Do you have a favourite? Do you have one that caught your eye that you couldn't leave the store without?
