After designing the function, the fun begins! Picking out bathroom faucets
When working on designing a new space, I always work on function first. After the functional layout has been created, then the fun begins. Picking out the pretty is when budgets are starting to form and where the space really starts to take shape. Since I'm working on a few bathroom designs, I thought it would be timely to write a post about picking out bathroom faucets!

Single Handle Bathroom Faucets
I love using single handle faucets for main bathrooms where there may be children using the space. Why? My main reason is strictly due to cleaning! One handle is far easier to clean than two! Plain and simple. While most some single handle faucets come with a deck plate, I try to never use that deck plate (unless we need to cover up holes that were already pre-drilled into the counter).
Moen Voss Bathroom Faucet
Delta Ashlyn™ Bathroom Faucet
I have just specified this bathroom faucet for an upcoming basement redevelopment where the entire design is French Country. Soft, creamy cabinetry to go along with this Venetian Bronze finish.
As you can see by the placement of the handle for the drain, a pop up drain will be specified as well. Delta provides this faucet in three finishes: Venetian Bronze (shown above), Polished Chrome and Brilliant Stainless.
Riobel Bathroom Faucet
I have just specified this Riobel faucet for an investment property. The design for the property is more modern and the finish will be in chrome although it also comes in brushed nickel. I like this faucet as it is a bit more budget friendly yet very modern looking.
Two Handle Wide Spread Bathroom Faucets
While I love to specify single handle bathroom faucets for a main bathroom, I LOVE specifying two handle wide spread bathroom faucets for a master bath. I think two handle wide spread faucets can really set the tone of a master bathroom. I look at faucets as jewelry and while you can keep things simple, this is where you can add that bling and beauty to a master bathroom!
Riobel EIFFEL
Oh.....when I saw this faucet I instantly fell in love! This particular faucet is being specified as one option for a master bath remodel. For this particular remodel, all of the finishes will be in brushed nickel however this faucet does come in chrome and the very sexy polished nickel (as shown in the image below). 
Riobel Salome
This is another Riobel that I have specified for an upcoming master bath remodel. I just have to say I am loving the polished nickel finish! I'm personally drawn to chrome but for me, the polished nickel takes it up a level! This particular bathroom faucet caught my eye as the handles are just so different than the 'standard' faucet. To turn on and off the water, you pull the handle toward you.

And for a more budget friendly faucet, I have used this little cutie as well.
This particular faucet comes in Polished Chrome, Champagne Bronze, Oil Rubbed Bronze and Venetian Bronze.
Vessel Sink Faucets
I love using vessel sink in both the powder room as well as the master bath. I try to stay away from specifying vessel sinks in main bathroom as most times there are children using the main bathroom and a vessel sink can be cumbersome to use for small children. If you are looking for a vessel sink and faucet, one thing to really be on the look-out for is the spout length. As you may notice in the images below, not all vessel faucets have the same spout length!
Delta Victorian™
This particular faucet was specified for a powder room re-fresh project.
When a faucet has this type of spout I always like to point out one thing that is a factor where I live. Although it's beautiful to watch the water flow out of the spout, in Calgary we have very hard water. Over time, if you are not a careful cleaner, the spout can get the hard water gunk and this pretty faucet can turn into a very ugly duckling over time. I like to bring that up as some of my clients are very much like me - clean freaks! Although I love the look of this faucet, I would never install one in my own home strictly due to that fact alone. This faucet comes in Polished Chrome, Venetian Bronze, Champagne Bronze and Brilliance Stainless.
Delta Tesla®
This vessel faucet has a handle very similar to the Riobel Salome.
What I love about this faucet is that it is very clean looking. I tend to use the word 'chunky' when describing faucets, and this does not fall into that 'chunky' category. A very sleek handle that would go well in both a modern and transitional bathroom. This faucet comes in Polished Chrome, Polished Nickel and Stainless.
Delta TRINSIC®
Of course, I wish to include a budget friendly option as well as a more modern look. This faucet checks both of those boxes!
I love that this faucet is very budget friendly and is quiet honestly, simple. There's nothing really fancy about it yet it can complement a vessel sink nicely.
