Once you know what kind of boxes you are going to need, you will want to ensure that you also have supplies on hand.

wardrobe boxWardrobe Boxes

These are a great way to move your entire closet and keep things on hangers.

Specialty Boxes/Packaging

There may be some items that need special care and attention:

  • mirrors
  • art work
  • matresses covers
  • computers/printers
  • lamp boxes
  • guitar boxes, etc.

Bubble Wrap/Wrapping Paper

These are used to wrap all of  your breakables.  I really do not suggest using newspaper as it can be extremely dirty - which will get your items dirty!

Moving SuppliesTape

Can you just see it?  Trying to rip a piece of tape and the roll gets away on you?  Packing tape can be a bit of a sticky situation.  If you know you have difficulty tearing tape, ensure you have a tape gun!  Ensure you have plenty on hand during your packing process.

Permanent Markers

Great to label cardboard boxes.  We have even used different colours to label when we know we will be unpacking.  Color coding makes it easy for the movers to know where to deliver the boxes at the new destination (all blue labeled boxes will go into the Master Bedroom).

Baggies

Having various sizes on hand is great for:

  • all keys
  • electronic cords
  • small electronics (iPods, etc.)
  • pens/pencils (from a desk), etc.

Post It Notes

To leave any notes on the inside or outside of boxes.It's always a great idea to ensure you have these items on hand before you start packing.  It makes the packing process go a whole lot smoother!
