Appliance Review: Blomberg 24" Tall Tub Top Control Dishwasher
My clients look to me for advice and for my knowledge on all things revolving around their renovation. When we carry out kitchen renovations, and new appliances will be ordered, I will often provide what I know about certain brands. This would be considered my personal appliance review.
Connections
When I visit trades shows, such as the Kitchen and Bath Show, I strategically make appointments with brands that I know, I like, and most importantly, trust. I spend time with the brands and the people representing the brand to learn all about the appliances. In turn, the brands ensure interior designers have the knowledge and the education regarding their appliances. They wish to ensure we have enough information to educate our clients.
Blomberg
While many are familiar with some brand names like LG, Samsung, Wolff, GE, and Miele, Blomberg is lesser known in my neck of the woods.
If you have not heard of Blomberg before, you may be surprised that it has been around for 130 years! Blomberg was established in 1883 in Germany. There are three main focuses:
- Intelligent solutions.
- Energy efficiency.
- The highest quality materials.
Our goal is to blend contemporary European design with cutting-edge performance and create home appliances that function beautifully in living spaces of all sizes.
In addition to all of the above, Blomberg follows their 3 guiding principles:
Dishwasher
When our trusty LG dishwasher finally took it's last breath, my family and I found ourselves in a position where we needed a new dishwasher. I knew that through my education, Blomberg would be on the top of my list.
By far, this is our most used appliance so I was not going to compromise with something cheap and inexpensive that would not withstand a lot of use. With many styles to choose from, I knew I didn't want to see buttons on the front. I was looking for a more streamlined, clean look. I also knew I needed to chose something that was some-what readily available.

A little disclaimer before I get to my appliance review: I did not receive any compensation for this blog. These are my own personal comments and review and this dishwasher was not gifted to me.
It's not often you will hear anyone gush over a dishwasher, but I am seriously in love with this appliance. I never knew how poor our old dishwasher was until we had this beauty installed. While I won't bore you with all of the information, here are my key points why I love this dishwasher.
Interior Size
The inside of this dishwasher is so generous. Blomberg truly has thought of maximizing every inch (which really equates to me not having to hand wash dishes that won't fit).
- There is the 3rd rack that we use for cutlery. This allows space on the lower and upper rack for dishes.
- The flexible upper rack has height adjustments. The FlexiRack allows you to adjust the height in one simple action, even when the rack is fully loaded.
- The upper rack is also height adjustable. When the need arises, this rack and be raised or lowered.
Cleaning
First of all, I can not tell you how quiet this dishwasher is. Our old dishwasher sounded like it was getting ready to take flight, but our new Blomberg dishwasher is virtually silent. We actually had to go and check that we started it correctly - it was that quite!

Lastly, this dishwasher gets to the cleaning business in a serious way. Blomberg has designed a high-pressure power zone in the right-hand side of the lower rack. The specially designed 180-degree rotating arm features a 360-degree rotating head that reaches every single angle with an intense spray perfect for cleaning heavily soiled pots and pans.
There is a dual water pressure program that applies gentle pressure in the upper basket for delicate glass and china, plus 60-percent higher pressure in the lower basket to get even heavily soiled pots and pans thoroughly clean.
When I take the clean dishes out of the dishwasher, they are spotless!
The Little Things Matter
It always seems to be the little things that add the icing on the cake. I think it's safe to say that we all know the little things matter - and here are my 3 selections.
- There are 2 little interior lights, yes lights, that light up when you open the door for this dishwasher. Now you may be thinking this is not a huge deal, but I swear that little angles sing when I open the door and the dishes are all cleaned and the spotlight is on them! The lights are brilliant when I'm putting away clean dishes in the evening or grabbing a clean glass.
- Blomberg also has a float leak protect system for this dishwasher. This is 'just in case' there ever was an issue, the float leak protect system will protect your floors. While you never see this and hopefully never use it, it is added protection that gives you peace of mind.
- I had our trusty plumber, Lumberjack Plumbing and Heating, install this dishwasher and it was super easy to install. I love it when our plumbers have an easy install!
Final Thoughts
It's not often people gush over appliances. I can safely say that I am truly gushing over this dishwasher which is why I wanted to write an appliance review. When we used to take dishes out of our old dishwasher, there was always something that needed to be re-washed (and usually by hand). Our dishes shine, the inside of the dishwasher shines (the stainless steel tub), and we have peace of mind that all of our dishes are thoroughly sanitized.
I know that when it comes time for another new appliance, I will be looking at Blomberg's full line of appliances.
