Somerset Master Bathroom & Main Bathroom Refresh
This young family was looking for guidance to refresh their master bathroom and main bathroom. Keeping the existing vanities, we worked together to bring everything together.
Main Bathroom
Although I don't have any 'before' pictures, here is the space that we were dealing with. With having two little girls, my clients knew that they were not going to stay little for long. With not a lot of options for creating space (they previously had a cabinet above the toilet), I had suggested making a niche in the wall (in between the studs) opposite the toilet. Mr. Man of the house did a fabulous job in creating more additional space that will eventually get used as the girls get older!
Didn't he do a great job with the shelves?
This bathroom refresh project has all new:
- flooring
- counters
- sink
- faucet
- mirror
- lights
- toilet
- and paint
Master Ensuite Refresh
This space had a little bit more of a refresh. First of all, the space itself was not fully functional. Although they had a great sized vanity, the sink locate was on the far left, the cupboard space below was poorly planned and the biggest complaint my clients had was the lack of organization in their bathroom.
Vanity
I had the cabinet company who built their cabinets when they built their home do some reconfiguring as there was no other place to put the vanity. The sink was centred (where it should have been in the first place IMHO) and we had a tall tower made to house everything that was cluttering up the counter. With newly configured lower cabinets and a new tall one, there is more than enough usable storage now. In addition, we had an electrical outlet added so that a hair dryer, flat iron, etc. could be used. This area received the following refresh:
- new vanity configuration
- new sink
- new faucet
- new mirror
- new lights
- new counter
- new tall tower organizer
Bath Tub
I really wish I would have taken before pictures for you to get a sense of what the bathtub looked like. It was basically an uncomfortable tub that had massive amounts of tile around it. My clients stated they hated to take a bath in the tub. The tub area received the following:
- New bath tub
- New faucets (including a hand sprayer)
- New wood tub surround to match the existing cabinets
- New subway tile surround
- New wallpaper on a feature wall (right hand side of image below)
Shower
We went back and forth with ripping out the shower versus keeping it. There was no other place to move the shower and the inset was in good condition. The door was also in great condition so this area did not get a lot.
- New tile surround
The End Result
When I was invited back to see the finished rooms, I was so excited. This was a project that I didn't manage so I didn't get to see it in its various stages. The pictures really do not do the two spaces any justice. I was truly amazed at how refreshed the spaces looked. My client made two comments to me that I truly loved to hear:
- She is finding the new configuration, along with the new counters, so easy to keep clean.
- They enjoy taking baths now!
