Colour of the Year: Have Your Say!

Last year was a very big year for myself and my business.  The one game-changer (as I like to call it) was when I went to Vancouver, British Columbia and completed my True Colour Expert® training with Maria Killam.  In my line of work, undertones play a huge part in helping clients make the best decisions for their homes.  As colour is so important, I'm always interested in what Pantone, Benjamin Moore and Sherwin Williams will choose (I specify Sherwin Williams and Benjamin Moore paints) for the colour of the year.

Colour of the Year: Benjamin Moore

Do you remember when Benjamin Moore chose Simply White their Colour of the Year?  Some people were so angry as they thought the colour of the year was boring.

Colour of the Year: Sherwin Williams

Sherwin Williams chose Alabaster.  Another white you say?  Again...so much anger that a paint company would choose a white!

Colour of the Year: Pantone

Well no white for Pantone!  Pantone went outside the box this year as they didn't choose 1 colour - they chose 2!

Colour of the Year: Beauti-Tone

The winner is....?  This year, Beauti-Tone is asking the public to choose what they think should be the colour of the year!  Your 4 choices to choose from:

  • Hot-Cha-Cha Collate

Colour of the Year

This reminds me of the brown, Tuscan trend!  No thank you.

  • Avocado Dipcolour of the year

This has a green undertone and would work well with creams.

  • Japonica

colour of the year

Definitely a pink undertone to this colour.

  • French Charming

colour of the year

A blue-green colour

If you're attending the National Interior Design Show in Toronto this January (Jan. 21-24) you can vote in person or online at Home Hardware's Facebook and Twitter pages.  Which colour would get your vote?
