Christmas Playlist: My favourite songs for the holidays

Just so you know, my blog for this week has NOTHING to do with renovating and interior design. I thought it would be fun, the last weekend before Christmas, to pull together some of my favourite Christmas songs and give a sneak peak into what's on my Christmas playlist.

I'm a huge music lover and I would rather listen to music than watch the television. I decided to pull together my list of some of my favourite Christmas tunes. And please note, they are not all conventional hymn-type songs.

Christmas Playlist

All I Want For Christmas Is You

I can't believe I'm saying this, but Mariah Carey's 'All I Want For Christmas Is You' is on my list. 25 years after it was released, it just reached No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for the first time, 25 years after it was first released.

Jingle Bells

Of course, my list has to have Canadian singer Michael Bublé. He has so many great Christmas songs. My favourite is Jingle Bells that features the Puppini Sisters.

Come on now, get up and dance!

White Christmas - Bing Crosby

Such a classic!

Mary Did You Know

Pentatonix has some super talent. And while this isn't an extremely popular song, their rendition of this song leaves you with warm feels.

Oh Holy Night

This is by far, the Mr.'s favourite Christmas song, sung by John Berry.

Last Christmas

Some of you may laugh at me for adding this one, but I always find myself singing my heart out when I hear this one.

Who can resist a little throw-back hair of George Michael?

Do You Hear What I Hear?

When I hear a Whitney Houston song, I can't help feeling sad. She was such a talent. Her voice, her presence...one that I miss.

Silent Night

We typically sing this song when our candles are lit in church on Christmas Eve. I can never get through the song without tears running down my cheeks. When sung a cappella, it is so magical.

There are so many Christmas songs I clearly could not list them all. Do you have a favourite that would be on your list? I'd love to know (and maybe add it to mine if it's not already there)!

From my family to yours, I wish you a magical Christmas and holiday season!

Much love,

Sheri Bruneau
